PANTHERS RECALL G SAM MONTEMBEAULT ON EMERGENCY BASIS
SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallonannounced today that the club has recalled goaltender Sam Montembeault from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds on an emergency basis.
Montembeault, 22, has appeared in 37 games for Springfield, owning a 13-14-8 record, a 3.16 goals against average, .901 save percentage and one shutout. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound native of Becancour, Quebec, represented Springfield at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.
Over his first two professional seasons, Montembeault has appeared in 78 career AHL games, posting a 26-37-11 mark, 3.21 goals against average, .898 save percentage and three shutouts.
He was originally selected by Florida in the third round (77th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
The Thunderbirds return to the MassMutual Center on Friday, March 1 for Boomer Bobblehead night presented by Stop & Shop, as the T-Birds and Wolf Pack square off once again for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. On Saturday, March 2, New England Patriots Super Bowl champion Trey Flowers will be on hand for a meet-and-greet beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the MassMutual Center concourse.
