Panthers Acquire D Bystrom from Stars
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Ludwig Bystrom from the Dallas Stars in exchange for defenseman Reece Scarlett.
Florida has loaned Bystrom to its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Bystrom, 23, has appeared in six games for the Texas Stars (AHL), recording one goal. The six-foot, 175-pound native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, has played in 138 career AHL games, producing 36 points (5-31-36) and a plus-14 rating.
He was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Springfield is next on home ice this Saturday, Nov. 11 for David Ortiz Night as the Thunderbirds host the Laval Rocket at 7:05. From there, the Thunderbirds will host the Providence Bruins on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 3:05 p.m. to round out their busy week.
