A fourth-round pick of the New York Rangers in 2019, Skinner joined the Blues organization in the trade that sent Vladimir Tarasenko to New York in 2023.

In his first full season with Springfield in 2023-24, Skinner led the team with 94 penalty minutes while adding 10 points in 50 games.

Skinner improved in his 2024-25 campaign, putting up 23 points (8g, 15a) and 98 penalty minutes in 71 games.
