Embarking on his first season in North America, Sylvegard arrives in Springfield having already skated in 320 games in his native Sweden for the SHL's Malmo Redhawks and Vaxjo HC.

In his last two seasons, he put up 41 points, including a career-high 23 goals last season with Vaxjo. In 2021, he helped lead Vaxjo to an SHL league championship.
