
Blues Assign Matt Luff, Corey Schueneman to T-Birds

ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have assigned forward Matt Luff and defenseman Corey Schueneman to their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Luff, 28, enters his second season with the T-Birds after posting 45 points (18g, 27a) in 50 games for Springfield last season. He added the game-winning goal in Game 1 of the T-Birds' best-of-3 playoff series against the Providence Bruins. In 106 NHL games with Los Angeles, Nashville, and Detroit, the Oakville, Ont. native has 27 points (15g, 12a) and 20 penalty minutes over his career. He has also skated in 279 AHL regular season games, posting 212 points (87g, 125a).
Schueneman, 30, also enters his second season with the T-Birds following a 2024-25 season that saw the Milford, Mich. native post 20 points (4g, 16a) and a +8 rating in 63 games. In 35 NHL games with Montreal and St. Louis, Schueneman has registered seven points (2g, 5a) and 8 penalty minutes. The veteran blueliner has also skated in 307 AHL regular season games, posting 110 points (25g, 85a) and a +28 rating.
The T-Birds open their preseason slate on Friday, October 3, when they visit the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. at Amica Mutual Pavilion. They host their lone preseason game on Sunday, October 5, at the MassMutual Center, with puck drop set for 3:05 p.m.
