A native of Kentville, N.S., the 22-year-old Whitney is a former seventh round NHL Draft selection of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2012. The 6-foot-5 netminder played 21 games in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the 2015-16 season, posting a 9-8-1 record.
