Panthers Assign 8 To Thunderbirds
Springfield, MA – Prior to the commencement of Springfield Thunderbirds training camp, the Florida Panthers announced that they have assigned a group of players to their AHL affiliate in Springfield.
The Panthers assigned eight players to the Thunderbirds – forwards Chase Balisy, Graham Black and Juho Lammikko, defensemen Josh Brown, Michael Downing and Linus Hultstrom, and goaltenders Sam Brittain and Colin Stevens.
In addition, the Panthers announced that forwards Rihards Bukarts, Anthony Greco and Zac Lynch and defenseman Ed Wittchow have been released from their tryout contracts and will report to Thunderbirds training camp.
To round out Florida's roster moves, defensemen Jonathan Racine and Brent Regner and goaltender Mike McKenna were placed on waivers and upon clearing waivers will report to Springfield.
The Thunderbirds begin the next era of professional hockey in Springfield on Saturday, Oct. 22 against the St. John’s Ice Caps. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. ET at the MassMutual Center. Fans can also see the Thunderbirds in action for pre-season matchups on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, at the MassMutual Center.
