Panthers Loan D McIlrath to T-Birds on Conditioning Assignment
SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced Wednesday that the Panthers have loaned defenseman Dylan McIlrath to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) on a conditioning assignment.
The 24-year old McIlrath has recorded one goal in four games with the Panthers this season. The 6-foot-5, 236-pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba has recorded five points (3-2-5) in 42 NHL games with the Panthers (2016-17) and New York Rangers (2013-16).
McIlrath was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the first round (10th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft. In 186 career AHL games with the Connecticut Whale and Hartford Wolf Pack, McIlrath has recorded 12 goals, 27 assists, and 473 penalty minutes.
The Thunderbirds return home to begin a nine-game month of January at the MassMutual Center tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
