Panthers Recall F Mamin from Thunderbirds
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled forward Maxim Mamin from Florida’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Mamin, 22, has appeared in 23 games with Springfield registering 15 points (6-9-15). He has produced three multi-point games with the Thunderbirds and has posted three points (2-1-3) over his last two games.
The 6-foot-2, 191-pound native of Moscow, Russia, is in the midst of his first season of hockey in North America after spending the previous three seasons playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He was named the KHL’s best rookie in the 2014-15 season after recording 10 points (5-5-10) over 39 games with CSKA Moscow.
He was originally selected by the Panthers in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.
The Thunderbirds play four of their next five contests away from home. Springfield's lone return to the MassMutual Center will be on Saturday, Jan. 6 for Blast from the Past Night against the Providence Bruins, in which the T-Birds will wear Springfield Indians throwback jerseys. Springfield will next take to the ice on Friday, Jan. 5 in Wilkes-Barre for a tangle with the Penguins.
