Panthers Recall F McCann from Thunderbirds
SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have recalled forward Jared McCann from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).
McCann, 20, has recorded six points (4-2-6) in 15 games this season with Springfield and has registered three points (1-2-3) in 17 games with the Panthers. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound native of Stratford, Ontario has played 86 NHL games for the Panthers (2016-17) and the Vancouver Canucks (2015-16).
McCann was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the first round (24th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
The Thunderbirds are back on the ice on Friday night in Providence to begin a home-and-home series with the Bruins. Rene Rancourt will be in the house at the MassMutual Center on Saturday to perform the anthem and sign autographs prior to the back-end of the weekend series. Both games have a 7:05 p.m. ET puck drop.
