SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Thunderbirds announced today that the club has hired Brandon Wildung as Goaltending Coach.

Wildung, 32, joins the T-Birds and replaces Dan Stewart, who was appointed Goaltending Coach by the New Jersey Devils earlier this month. Wildung most recently served as Associate Head Coach for the USHL's Sioux Falls Stampede from 2024-26, where he helped the Stampede to a Clark Cup championship this past season.

Prior to his coaching career, the Nassau, Minn. native stood between the pipes for four NCAA seasons with Mercyhurst University from 2014 to 2018 before skating in seven pro games with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies and Manchester Monarchs. 

Wildung began his junior coaching career as an assistant coach with the Stampede in 2022-23, then served as an assistant coach in 2023-24 for Augustana University, the program's first season as an NCAA Division I school.
