T-Birds Sign F Braylon Shmyr to PTO

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Thunderbirds announced Wednesday that they have signed forward Braylon Shmyr to an AHL PTO.
The 21-year-old native of Calgary, AB is in his first full professional season following a junior career with the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades. Shmyr was teammates with current Thunderbird Jayce Hawryluk on the Wheat Kings from 2013-2016.
In eight games with the Allen Americans of the ECHL this season, Shmyr has seven goals to go along with seven assists for 14 points. Shmyr amassed 111 goals and 129 assists in 300 career games in the WHL for Brandon and Saskatoon, including a career-best 88 points (37g, 51a) in 2017-18 with the Blades.
The T-Birds will look to extend their win streak to six games and their point streak to nine games when they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at MassMutual Center in the first of a home-and-home series on Friday, November 2 at 7:05pm.
