Romanov, 26, spent the majority of 2024-25 with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda, posting an 11-6-3 record along with a 3.10 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in 21 regular-season appearances. He was signed by St. Louis as a free agent on Oct. 8.
In his first season with the T-Birds in 2025-26, Romanov went 9-12-3 during the regular season with one shutout, a 3.29 goals-against average, and .896 save percentage. In the Calder Cup Playoffs, Romanov shined to lead Springfield to within one game of the Eastern Conference Finals. He went 7-4 in 11 postseason starts, posting two shutouts and a .939 save percentage to go along with a miniscule 1.84 goals-against average.
