Originally a first-round pick by St. Louis in 2023 (25th overall), Stenberg made his North American pro debut with the Thunderbirds as a 19-year-old on Jan. 18, 2025 at Bridgeport, where he recorded a goal and an assist. In 38 games, he posted 17 points (5g, 12a) and a +5 rating.
In his first full year in Springfield, Stenberg tallied 17 points in 36 games during the 2025-26 season. He also picked up 10 points (3g, 7a) in 32 NHL games with St. Louis. Stenberg made his NHL debut on December 17, 2025 and scored his first NHL goal on January 7, 2026.
Prior to coming to Springfield, Stenberg skated in 79 games in the SHL for Frolunda HC and the Malmo Redhawks. He has also represented his native Sweden twice at the World Junior Championships, where he has parlayed 17 points (8g, 9a) in 14 career tournament games.
